Coat surface with thickened dye or paint, use tool to 'draw' marks in the media (e.g. cocktail stick, comb, textured roller) and then press onto fabric or paper.
Sticking a 'texture' to the surface with double-sided tape or glue, e.g. bubble wrap, inscribed styrofoam or carved rubbers, or simply wrap the plate with string, raffia, etc. Brush / coat the surface with thickened dye or paint and press onto fabric or paper.
Place folded fabric between the plates and secure with bands before placing in dye bath for interesting resist patterns.
